Appointment of New High Commissioner

Please note that as a result of the introduction of the new e-payment format by the Nigerian Immigration Service, the Nigerian High Commission in Ottawa has reviewed the procedures for submitting applications and making payments for Passports, Visas and Other Consular Services as follows:

The new applications and payment procedures were put into effect from September 1, 2007. The Nigerian Immigration has warned that documents issued through applications that do not conform to the new e-payment procedures will not be accepted at ports of entry.

Applicants for Visas and Nigerian MR passports are therefore advised to apply and make the required e-payments on the portal for e- payment at www.immigration.gov.ng . Click on the e-payment link with the picture of a black mouse located at the middle right hand side of the page with a caption ‘ONLINE PAYMENT SERVICES’ or proceed straight to http://portal.immigration.gov.ng and click on the required services. This should be done before forwarding downloaded copies and supporting documents as well as the specified administrative charges above to the High Commission for further processing.
